National subscription

Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” has access to information platforms within the national subscription made by the Ministry of Education and Science. 
Dear readers, 
We inform you that on 3rd August 2017, in a letter to the Director of the Sofia University Library - Assoc. Prof. Anna Angelova, Mr. Endre Beky, Regional Director of Elsevier for Eastern Europe and Russian Federation, informed that as of 4th August 2017 Elsevier ceases the access to the ScienceDirect base content, published in 2017 * and the access to the Scopus database. 
* The access to the ScienceDirect platform archive until 2016 is active.

A full-text database with over 2500 journals and 6000 books in the following fields:

Life Sciences – Agricultural Science, Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics and Molecular Biology, Environmental Science, Immunology and Microbiology, Neurology;

Health – Medicine and Dentistry, Public Health, Pharmacology, Toxicology and Pharmacy, Veterinary Science and Veterinary Medicine;

Scopus’ unique database contains abstracts and references from more than 15,000 peer-reviewed journals ensuring broad interdisciplinary coverage. It covers:

Social Sciences – 3400 titles;
Medicine – 5300 titles (100% coverage of Medline);
Physics– 5500 titles;
Social Sciences– 2850 titles.

From 2009 a new subject area Arts & Humanities will be added, which includes 1 250 new titles in the field of Education, Anthropology, Sociology & Political Science, Philology, Music, Archeology, Languages and Linguistics, Religious Studies, Philosophy, Cultural Studies, Visual & Performing Arts, Classics, History, Literature and Literary Theory, etc.
